ENTERS participating in Bærekraftig Sammen Kristiansand

This week, Kristiansand municipality is organizing a series of free events on sustainability topics.  ENTERS will have a presentation on Plastic and the Circular Economy on November 7th, 6pm at Teateret, Kongens gate 2, Kristiansand.  There are many other events happening during the week. ENTERS members participate in World Resources Forum 2019 in Geneva

Mooselu and Adomako at the World Resources Forum in Geneva

UiA PhD students Solomom Adomako and Mehrdad Ghorbani Mooselu recently attended the World Resource Forum in Geneva, Switzerland as representatives of ENTERS. While there, they had the opportunity to meet and network with various actors and researchers in focused on raw materials. Solomon, a native of Ghana, was also able to meet with the Ghanian Minister of the Environment,  Science, Technology and innovation during a seminar on e-waste in Ghana.

Guest lecturer from Eyde Cluster presents on circular economy in practice

October 15, 2019

On October 15th, Christophe Pinck from the Eyde Cluster gave a two hour lecture to civil engineering and renewable energy masters students on the use of circular economy as a design tool and as a driver for  future change. He discussed his experiences as a designer, entrepreneur and leader for International Relations in the Eyde Cluster.

ENTERS contributing to the new ISO standards on circular economy

ENTERS members participated in a meeting in Oslo regarding the Norwegian mirror group on circular economy standards for Standard Norway. The mirror group is intended to provide input to the development of a global circular economy standard, which to this point does not exist. ENTERS will continue to participate in the ongoing efforts of the Norwegian group to help in this regard!

ENTERS spring seminar on bioeconomy held in Kristiansand

The seminar was attended by approximately 40 participants from industry, local municipalities and research organizations. The main topic for the day was the introduction of the Agder Symbiosis project, an overview of some of the bioeconomy principles and projects in Norway, and a workshop on using creative problem solving methods with bioeconomy.

BATMAN project kick-off meeting held in Kristiansand!

Consortium members from NTNU, UiA, Eyde Cluster, IFE, TØI, Glencore, Elkem, and Fiven meet at Glencore Nikkelverk in Kristiansand to kick-off the BATMAN project. (Photo from Eyde Cluster)

The business school at UiA will be working on circular business models, impacts from graphite production, and regulations in two separate work packages with funding for two PhDs over the three-year project timeline.

ENTERS members recieve NFR financing for BATMAN project

April 15, 2019

ENTERS has received 4.5MNOK financing for three years from the NFR under the BIA-X program to work on material management of batteries. The project name stands for: Lithium ion BATteries – Norwegian opportunities within sustainable end-of-life MANagement, reuse and new material streams. 

This project is coordinated by the EYDE cluster, and in collaboration with ELKEM, Glencore, NTNU. UiA will recieve two PhD students as part of the collaboration who will be working on sustainable business models for battery recycling and material handling.

Members of ENTERS have had the joy of traveling to the beautiful island of Sandøya, outside Tvedestrand to define the mission of ENTERS. The isolation in a place surrounded by nature, combined with a high level of motivation triggered the right amount of creativity, enabling us to envision the future of ENTERS.

ENTERS welcomes guest researcher Sophie Engels from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands

Sophie Engels

Sophie will be working with local bioeconomy firm Høst and UiA on understanding the potential for humic acid produced from surface water treatment as a resource. She will be here until September working in the renewable energy department. Her work is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.

ENTERS has organized the first Climathon at UiA. It was a great success and many students attended, therefore ENTERS will organize the next Climathon, the 25th October 2019. We hope to see many students joining this fight against climate change!

Reyn O’Born presents the ENTERS concept to seminar participants

ENTERS UiA had a kick-off meeting to present their vision and goals for the future. The meeting had  approximately 40 participants and was kicked-off by Dekan of Engineering Sciences, Michael Rygaard Hansen. There were additional presentations on circular economy concepts and a small workshop and discussion on how circular economy could be included in research at UiA.

ENTERS is financed by TEKREAL for 18 months to promote circular economy and sustainability in research and education at the University of Agder. ENTERS is a coalition of more than 30 researchers from the Kristiansand, Grimstad and Flødevigen campuses who will work together towards multidisciplinary
